In 2002,
one of North America’s largest railroads, CSX Transportation
selected Wabtec Global Services to exclusively maintain an inventory
of nearly 40 products at 11 locations for a period of ten years.
Through close work with CSXT and the use of Wabtec’s Quality
and Performance system (QPS) tools, Wabtec Global Services automated
the process of supplying replacement parts. As a result of the program,
CSXT now receives only what is needed when it is needed and has enjoyed
a 98% reduction in locomotives held for WMI material. |
